BIO PSYCHO SOCIAL APPROACH

a bio psycho social spiritual approach to science, design, art and collective change *

We are explore indigenous materials in new ways through Indigenous Architecture, Indigenous Material Studies (including our emerging Yoruba Indigenous Materials Library), Non-extractive agricultural research (including research in soil remediation + on the politics of heirloom seeds+ farming), Human+ Non-Human earthly relationships, Ancestral Soil + Geological Research which explore material world building in anti-colonial, counter-colonial, decolonial and indigenous ways.

Our socio-political interest include intersectional and ecological (systems) research in:Globalized Anti-blackness, African Indigenous Sovereignty + Settler Colonialism in Nigeria, Nigerian Military History + Nigerian Political Traumas, Afropessimism

Transformation is a key mission of Ilẹ̀ Lab. Through academic theoretical  scientific creative and design research,we are exploring the question of a what new social-political world materiality looks like. What materialities might call forth a new social political reality.

Our mental-emotional-centered research explores: Nigerian Collective Trauma, Somatic Abolitionism, and the impacts of racialized trauma for black bodies, The ontological and cosmological (visceral) traumas of Colonialism and White Supremacy
